Connections Exhibition for Seniors Month 2023

Celebrating Seniors Month
October gives HBAS & Gallery 5 an opportunity for a special exhibition that some of our members have been engaged in over the past two months. The “Connection Exhibition” is a major collaboration with U3A writers and HBAS artists. Twenty-five poems or prose were selected to be the inspiration for artworks to be created. These pieces of writing and their connected artworks will be installed in Gallery 5 during October which is Seniors Month.
The theme for Seniors Month is ‘Social Connections’ hence the focus of our exhibition. As part of the collaboration, all works created will be published in an anthology that will be launched at our Grand Opening on 8th October. Please support this unique and interesting endeavour.
The opening of The Collaboration between U3A Hervey Bay and the Hervey Bay Art Society on Sunday 8th October was a huge success. It was a wonderful time of sharing and connecting. Artists met the writers, writers met the artists and enjoyed discussions on each other’s work.
There was a huge turnout of over 180 people. All gathered together to enjoy an amazing decadent afternoon high tea. Thank you, Paul Rocchi, for your excellence in catering for this event.
A lot of work went into this amazing exhibition, which is currently on show at Gallery 5. There is a quality book which has been published containing all the artworks and relevant stories, which is a must read at only $10 per copy. What a wonderful way to celebrate Connections during Seniors Month 2023.
