Tony Lewis – Online Gallery
Anthony L. Lewis (Tony) was born on a farm in Africa. Growing up immersed in nature, Tony was awestruck by the magnitude of both planet and sky. This was only reinforced while travelling and living in several countries as an adult before settling in Hervey Bay, Australia.
Being emotionally driven and viscerally conscious of Nature and the Creation in all its forms, Tony is aware that we, as artists, cannot compete; He strives to translate its’ energetic complexity, colour, light, translucence and reflections in his works.
Tony’s current work focuses on landscapes, waterscapes and skies with the occasional addition of figures or man-made item for interest, with an economy of brushstrokes. While experienced in various mediums, Tony now mainly works with the richness of oils. His portfolio of works show his time spent in other countries, with landscapes from Europe among those subjects painted.
Tony has been a member of the Hervey Bay Art Society for many years and is a valued contributor, volunteer and past workshop teacher. He is always the first to offer help to new members and to share knowledge with those just starting on their artistic journey and to give valuable insight into those seeking feedback into their own works for improvement or ‘just another opinion’.
Tony exhibits through selected locations throughout the Fraser Coast and these are often advertised via the Gallery 5 (the Hervey Bay Art Society) social media pages. His works can also be found hanging in Gallery 5 in Sandy Street, Urangan.
Collectors can contact Tony by calling Gallery 5 on (07) 4124 9200, leaving a message and Tony will make contact back.
