Weekly Friday Morning Tutored Workshop – All Media

Snapshot of a typical Friday Workshop (circa 2017).

What the Workshop Covers

Friday art tutors Mark Brose (on left) and Rolf Sieber (on right). Mark (in his role as president) is shown here presenting Rolf with first prize in the miniatures section of the Dec 2020 Monthly Members Exhibition – Miniatures and Small Paintings for his work “Sunset at Mornington”.

The Friday Weekly Workshop is a tutored workshop covering 2D art (painting and drawing).

Mark Brose is the pastel tutor and Rolf Sieber tutors all other media.

Tables, chairs and full size easels are provided but all other equipment needs to be supplied by the artist. Artists work on their own projects and the tutors come around and discuss and assist. Friday workshops are not conducted as a class but rather as a mentoring session with the tutors. Other artists in the class will also assist and discuss art as well of course.

If you are a new artist and have just been dabbling please do not be put off. Come in with whatever you have been working with and mention to the tutors that you are a newbie and they will point you in the right direction.

First Time Attending

It can be a bit daunting showing up cold to an art workshop – especially if you are interested in painting but haven’t done much. An easy way is to show up one Friday morning (sans equipment) and check out the facilities for yourself. Have a look around the gallery and workshop and have a talk to the tutors or reception and see what is involved and if it is for you.

If you are interested in art and have time to pursue it – don’t put it off – come and join in – attend the workshops and hopefully join as a member.
