To celebrate it’s 50th anniversary, the Hervey Bay Art Society held a special exhibition in February and March of 2021 showcasing the award winning art of Hervey Bay Art Society members and Hervey Bay Art Society run competitions over the years.

This special exhibition takes up all of gallery 5. The exhibition runs from Friday 12 Feb 2021 through Thursday 11 Mar 2021.

Our patron, Mayor George Seymour, officially opened the exhibition on Saturday 20th February 2021.

Please come and view this exhibition at Hervey Bay Art Society’s “Gallery 5” Art Gallery, at 5 Sandy St Urangan. Gallery 5 is open daily and entry is free.

The official Exhibition Opening – Sat 20 Feb 2021 from 1:30pm

The official opening was declared by our patron, Mayor George Seymour on Saturday 20th February 2021 at Gallery 5 on Sandy St in Urangan at 2:00pm.

The opening was very well attended and the catering was tremendous. Many thanks to all the volunteers and our special guests for making this opening memorable and special.

Key Dates

Delivery of Paintings: Either Friday 8 Jan 2021 between 9:00 am and 11:00 am or Friday 22 Jan 2021 between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Paintings must have been pre-approved by committee as being eligible and selected for display.

For people who cannot deliver on the dates above some paintings may be delivered on hanging day itself – Friday 12 Feb 2021 before 10:30am – provided a list of paintings and their sizes are sent to the president Mark Brose beforehand so that gallery space utilization can be determined. Mark’s contact details can be found on page 5 of the Jan/Feb 2021 newsletter.

Exhibition Viewing: Friday afternoon 12 Feb 2021 through Thursday 11 Mar 2021.

Official Opening: Saturday 20 Feb 2021 starting at 1:30pm. Announcements/Speeches will be held at 2:00pm. Registrations are essential, please contact Gallery 5 for further information.

Collection of Paintings: Friday 12 Mar 2021 between 9:00 am and 10:30 am.

Conditions for Exhibiting Paintings at this Exhibition

Only paintings pre-approved by the committee as being eligible and selected for display may be exhibited at this exhibition.

Volunteers

Sincere thanks to the committee members and to the volunteers involved in the organisation and presentation of this exhibition. Events like this do not just happen – it takes many hours of time and effort from dedicated people.
