37th Annual Regional Competitive Art Exhibition (2021) (Past)

Established in 1983, the annual competitive art exhibition run by the Hervey Bay Art Society has become an annual fixture in the Fraser Coast’s cultural calendar.

This competitive art exhibition is an open competition and always attracts excellent artists, both from the Fraser Coast and beyond.

The open competition has a $2,000 first prize (acquisitive – provided by the Fraser Coast Regional Council ) and most other sections have upwards of $500 first prizes. This exhibition is always popular with the public, so if you want your artwork to be seen, this is the exhibition to enter.

This exhibition is held at Gatakers Artspace , 311 Kent St, Maryborough and runs from Jul 3, 2021 through Aug 15, 2021 .

Please come and view this exhibition at Gatakers Artspace . Gatakers Artspace is open daily (weekdays 9:30am – 3:30pm. weekends 9:30am – 2:00pm.) and entry is free. (Exhibition has closed)

The Official Opening – Sat Jul 3, 2021 from 2:00pm

The official opening was declared by our patron Mayor George Seymour on Saturday Jul 3, 2021 at Gatakers Artspace.

A big thank you to all those who attended the opening of our 37th Annual Competitive Art Exhibition at Gatakers Artspace. It was a great afternoon of art and conversation. Congratulations to all the award recipients and a big thank you to all those who entered their works. A big thank you also who all those people who contributed to the organisation and running of this event.

On Mar 14, 2021 the Entry Form Cover Sheet and the Entry Form was changed to show that the “Collection of Works Date” changes from Monday Aug 16, 2021 to Tuesday Aug 17, 2021.

On Mar 15, 2021 the Entry Form Cover Sheet was changed to show that Gatakers Artspace opening hours is Mon-Fri 9:30am-3:00pm and Sat-Sun 10:00am-2:00pm. It previously showed 10:00am to 4:00pm closed Sundays.
