This annual event is the premium Hervey Bay Art Society Member’s Exhibition of the year. Every year there are beautiful works of art on display.
The exhibition runs from Friday Oct 14, 2022 to Thursday Nov 17, 2022. Please come and view this exhibition at Gallery 5 when it is on – Gallery 5 is open daily and entry is free. All the paintings in this premium exhibition are available to purchase and would make great acquisitions or gifts. A work of fine art is forever.
The Awards Presentation is on at 2:30pm on Sunday Oct 16, 2022 at Gallery 5. All are welcome to attend but please RSVP if you are attending for catering purposes.
Results were announced at the Awards Presentation held at Gallery 5 on Saturday Oct 15, 2022 at 2:00pm. The judge for this competition is noted local artist Bette Phillips.

Judge’s comment about the winning entry “Morning Light” – A well-accomplished painting of the Australian Landscape applying the colours of the bush exquisitely. The artist demonstrates a comfortable familiarity with the acrylic medium giving the viewer a sense of belonging. The many beautiful contrasts of light & shade create a dramatic scene that invites further discovery.

Judge’s comment about the winning entry “Arkarra Swamp” – A beautifully rendered depiction of a peaceful location. The soft warm light invites the viewer into the scene while suggesting more discoveries beyond the light. This is an extremely flawless piece showing confidence in the medium and her talent.

A fabulous time was had by all who attended the 2022 Annual Members’ Exhibition Presentation today.
The awards were presented and we were able to partake in a wonderful spread of food put on by our new Catering Officer, Paul Rocchi and his wife, Patrice. A special thanks to noted local artist Bette Phillips for taking the time to judge this exhibition. Thank you also to Jacquie Boyle (Catalogue), Josephine Baddeley (Entry Collection, the Installation Team (hanging of artworks) and Genevieve Neale (Artwork labels). Thanks to Tom Nott for organising and serving the drinks and those behind the scenes – Mark Brose, Jane Backhaus, Gwen Moore, Carol McAnulty and Rolf Sieber – for their efforts.
