Carole Rowe Artist Profile

I have been interested in art from an early age but my passion lay mostly dormant until my husband and I retired.

After moving to Hervey Bay in 2011, I joined the Hervey Bay Art Society. I have been inspired by the society’s competitions and enjoy the social interaction with so many friendly, like minded artist. I am mainly self taught but try to attend as many workshops as I am able.

I have become interested, after attending a workshop in Canberra with Janet Thatcher, in painting on velour with pastel pencils. I love painting Australian wildlife and domestic pets in this medium and this has become my main interest.

I also love painting portraits and florals in pastel and have attended many workshops to further develop my skills on these subjects. I have won many awards over the years.

I tend to see beauty in everyday subjects such as derelict buildings, the shapes and colours of trees and flowers, rocks, shells and various other subjects.

I have learnt so much since joining the society and look forward to many art filled years ahead.
