Still Life Exhibition 2025

Open 30th May – Close 27th June 2025

What is Still Life in art?

A still life is a piece of work that focuses on still objects with the subject matter inanimate and never moving. It typically has a focus on household object, flowers or fruits, sometimes a combination of all three.

With still life, practice can be done without the subject moving around, using objects with different properties, values and colours.

A still life is a great starting point for those starting off in the art world and also great for those with highly honed skills as it enables both bold strokes, fine details and can be used with many different styles and mediums; with brush strokes bold and elaborate or fine and detailed, realistic or not.

We look forward to seeing you in the gallery soon.
