Jacquie Boyle is also known as JacquieD Artwork
I have always loved to draw. Even as a child my favourite subject was always art. When my own children were growing up, I would paint and draw their favourite characters for their bedroom walls. I am a self-taught artist, but in recent years, since becoming a member of the Hervey Bay Art Society, I have attended many classes and workshops. I have received awards for my works in exhibitions and sold many pieces. I even won a “People’s Choice” award in the Annual Members Exhibition in 2022 for my gorilla “Hope”.
I enjoy doing commission work in pastel, mostly doing pet portraits. I love seeing the expression on clients faces when they see the likeness of their pets, capturing the full expression and personality of each animal. However, I am not limited and enjoy seascapes and landscapes also. Over the years I have enjoyed working in oils and acrylics, however last year I decided to try pastels. Wow, I honestly felt that I have found my medium. Totally enjoying using pastel sticks and pencils. It’s funny, when you are passionate about what you do, I believe it shows in your work.
I love the community involvement of joining Gallery 5 which is the gallery for the Hervey Bay Art Society. The number of workshops and experience from other members has proved so valuable. I wish it was something I had done years ago and encourage anyone to search for your local art group and get involved.
